Bonjour, Elle Décoration!

Kristin Hohenadel, a writer for Apartment Therapy, is a lucky gal. She's blogging from Paris these days, and I wish I could trade my tiny-ass apartment in L.A. for a Parisian appartement compact. (I hope that that's grammatically correct. My French is, shall we say, a little rusty. You should probably all get tetanus shots, actually.)

Kristin and AT featured this tiny apartment that was in Elle Décoration. It's a former maid's chamber that was redone by architect Vincent Renié, drawing on the idea of a ship's cabin for space-saving techniques. It's one of the narrowest apartments I've seen, but it works. (The entire place is only 134 square feet, by the way!) I especially like the bed at the end of the "hall" under the window. It looks so cozy!

  1. That's amazing! I love how bright it looks even though it's basically a long, narrow hallway. And I'm in love with the old-school in-the-middle-of-the-door doorknobs and the door color!

  2. I just found your blog via Design Sponge and I love it, especially since I just moved into in a tiny ass apartment!

  3. Ana: Yeah, color me impressed, too! I'm sure it's smaller in person than in the pictures, but it's so bright and airy that it seems very livable.

Danielle: Thanks! I hope I can help - and let me know if there's any issues you want me to cover!
